"Look closely and you will see some individual scenes from the stories of Winnie-the-Pooh."

— Peter Ellenshaw

"I have always been intrigued by dioramas and triptychs, perhaps because a long linear piece of art is somewhat akin to a narrative story. And certainly the adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh are meaningful narrative stories to all of us."
— Harrison Ellenshaw

In 2003 Collectors Editions, the publishers of Disney giclées, asked the father and son team to do something unique for their galleries in Japan using the Winnie-the-Pooh characters. Rather than do one painting, the Ellenshaws decided to divide the scene into quarters and make each panel represent one of the four seasons. Just as Claude Monet painted haystacks in different light and seasons; why not paint the Hundred Acre Wood in the different light of spring, summer, winter and fall? And, as admirers of the Winnie-the-Pooh illustrations of Ernest H. Shepard, Peter and Harrison decided to place characters exactly as drawn by Shepard into this very unique and special set of giclées.
