"I have painted along this shore for many years; it is one of my favorite areas, a secret location. The day I painted this picture it was very stormy. Toward evening it began to clear. I started to paint the sunlight on the water. Suddenly a wave hit the rocks and almost took me into the ocean. I finished the painting... in the quietude of my studio."
