"This painting gradually evolved from a springtime memory I had when I was quite young. We were hiking in the woods and came across a vista which seemed to go on forever. It is unusual to be able to see so far, for usually, the trees bunch together to hide the distance. Perhaps it was the stream that gave one the ability to see into what one might call future dreams. I do remember that wonderful feeling of peace that it gave me — I did my best to capture it. Hope some of the feeling I had that day in springtime, long ago, comes across to you."
