John Milton’s Paradise Lost written in 1667 was most famously illustrated by the French artist Gustave Doré who did his engravings for the epic poem in the mid 1800s. Peter Ellenshaw has done a number of paintings based on this classic story of the Fall of Man and the temptation of Adam and Eve. Here he depicts the Garden of Eden in all it’s beauty and grandeur. But soon with Satan’s revenge complete Paradise will be lost forever.
