Peter Ellenshaw visited Claude Monet's home and garden in the village of Giverny many times. It became the subject of dozens of paintings; the brilliant flowers and picturesque pond inspirational in their magnificent beauty. In the late 70s however, the estate began to fall into disrepair. So Peter dedicated his annual art show in 1981 at Hammer Galleries to help contribute to the restoration of the home and gardens. This poster is still sold at the gift shop in Giverny; a tribute of one inspired artist to another. |
